Civilian Full Time Role Interest at DIU

The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), has a variety of missions which bring academic and private sector solutions to national security problems. To accomplish this mission, we seek a wide variety of backgrounds including military experience, high technology product development and leadership and general program management experience.
We have three organizational components within DIU:
—Core DIU is a project-based organization seeking industry and project management experience with familiarity of the technologies we focus on: advanced energy and materials, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, cyber, human systems (any technology that optimizes human performance in an adversarial environment), and space.
—National Security Innovation Capital (NSIC) is a new initiative which aims to catalyze private investment in dual-use hardware technology by making grants to companies that can be future DIU vendors. NSIC seeks investor or technology leadership experience who can vet potential early-stage companies for investments that benefit national security.
—National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) manages programs which facilitate new pathways for talent into DoD, help companies commercialize technology for DoD and events which ask students from major universities to solve national security problems such as the Hacking 4 Defense course. NSIN seeks managers who can develop and administer programs as well as outreach professionals to work with universities, accelerators and incubators.
